Competitions
North Gloucestershire Chess League - Three Divisions for teams of
five players, Time limit 1 or 1 ¼ hours plus 10 second increment,
usually runs from late September to early May.
Super League - Competition for teams of eight players with both
rapid and classical rounds
Peter Harrison Knockout. Handicapped knockout competition for
teams of six players played at a classical time limit
Summer League. Handicapped rapid play competition for teams of
four players. Played from May to June
Individual Championship - Standard play Swiss tournament played
over several evenings from October to May, open to all players in
the North Gloucestershire League and North Gloucestershire
residents
Individual Rapid Championship - Rapid play Swiss tournament
played over two summer evenings, open to all players in the North
Gloucestershire League and North Gloucestershire residents

Covering North Gloucestershire from The Forest of Dean in the West, to Cirencester in the East and from Cheltenham in the North to Stroud in the
South, the North Gloucestershire Chess Association organises chess leagues and other events to support, promote and encourage the playing of
chess in the local area
